Actually, when someone is capable of hitting twice the same (wrong) spot it means he is quite a good shooter, because he only needs to change his aiming, wich is easy.
On the opposite, it is much harder to improve your regularity, and thus a person doing the shot in the strip would be considered better than one hiting once both the middle and the rim.

Two terms: Accurate and precise. Hes inaccurate, because he missed the bullseye, hes extremely precise because he shot the same place twice. Still pretty bad though.
I’m guessing this actually refers to a scene from the robin hood movie where the master archer guy hit a bullseye and then robin hood split his arrow to beat him, so I dont think this guy shot both arrows.
You can’t forget the parts where he assembled a group of mediocrely happy guys and won the heart of his true love, Marion the maid (I hear he’s a nice fellow).
Wait a minute. Does that mean he a terrible shot for missing the bull’s-eye, or an amazing shot for being able to hit the exact same spot to the point of splitting his own arrow?

He only hit that spot once, though. Remember, in every movie this comic is based on Robin splits the previous archer’s arrow to outdo him.
Also, notice the different arrow ends.
There’s one movie in which Robin’s arrow gets split it two — Robin Hood: Men In Tights.
“He split Robin’s arrow in twain!”
could be worse he could completely miss the target.
Nope. Skill in archery is almost entirely about precision, as it’s a trivial matter to offset your aim.

He may be a failure, but at least he is a dependable and consistent failure.

He probably has to pay for that himself too.
I don’t know why this made me guffaw as hard as I did.
You have truly outdone yourselves, good Sirs. My new favorite.
The secret comic satisfies the governments desire to please the masses!
The secret comic suggests Robin does not take mockery very well…
He’s the best of the worst!
Wes and Tony are deliberately asploding my mind D:
