It’s a huge relief knowing that no one is truly unique. Everyone out there has a thousand counterparts who act basically the same, think basically the same things, and like basically the same stuff. Maybe they have a different faces, names, and jobs, but they’re entirely interchangeable. Everyone expects the same from all of them.
And that’s great! You never have to live up to the pressure of “being yourself.” There’s no real “you.” It’s just “be everybody else.” Just act accordingly to your approximate personality and upbringing bracket. You can use your peers to gauge your own success in life, and get really hopelessly mad at yourself when you don’t have everything they have that you want.
And when you scream and cry out to the vast, empty, unhearing cosmos, you get to know everyone else is doing that too! The universe won’t even let you revel in your misery. So, basically, there’s nothing ever worth worrying about.

Is it depressing that this is kind of part of my life philosophy? Because I think it’s kind of not, but it kind of is, too. I mean, we have created a big, confusing work in our histories, literatures, discourses, etc., but in the end it’s all worth exactly what we ascribe to it. Nothing more (except if there IS a god that can somehow give things a deeper meaning), nothing less. That’s kind of bad if you want to make things seem bigger than they obviously are (i.e. with religious systems), that’s good when it comes to the bad things in life. The universe, maybe even god or whatever, will care about your achievements the same as about your mistakes: Nil. So being successful is kinda nice, since the other humans will like you for it and it gives you a sense of achievement. But in the end it’s okay if you are not a big achiever. Especially since most of it comes down to luck anyway. You can work hard as hell and not get where you want to be. Or you can. The only real choice in this is if you try.
Eh, I dunno if a God being involved WOULD give it a deeper meaning.
It might add a few layers of purpose – stuff like adding ‘and in the process judge souls’ to the end of what the description would be – but otherwise I’d say it’ll still end up more or less the same.
If anything, a God being involved would simplify things.
But it’s not depressing – I have a similar philosophy, though I tend to consider it part of my assumption of ‘Everything is Connected’; Just about every human does certain things in more or less the same way, for the same reasons, with the same timing. And the interests can usually be boiled down to some mix of pride and a desire to prove your superiority to potential mates.

I don’t know… in my heart there’s only one Wes and Tony <3 <3 <3
jk megalolzerz I read other webcomics, amirite?
Also, in comparison, snow flakes are far less annoying.
Well this has been quite the philosophical ASP! Never been one quite like it, other than perhaps all the ‘God and the Devil’ comics, the ‘Talking Animals’ comics and of course the GodSlug mascot… Come to think of it, they’re ALL quite philosophical, aren’t they?
This is a cry for something. Whether it’s help or a firm kick to the nuts is debatable… Got a convention schedule?
If anyone who reads this comic is depressed afterwards, here’s something uplifting yet meaningful: http://www.memecenter.com/fun/2617023/life-and-donuts
That comic is just bad philosophy. If there is no meaning, then it doesn’t matter if you enjoy life or not.
completely ignored, until you have to be shoveled out of the driveway.
lol theres a dick in the hidden comic
The same Cretins that say there are an infinite number of solar systems and habitable planets in the Universe, that.there has to be alien life, due to the assumption that the Universe itself is infinite, are the very Nincompoops who would argue that no two snowflakes are alike. Has anyone really checked?
